1st Annual Hands on Texas History Festival

Prepare yourself for the best living history festival Galveston Island has ever seen! On June 29th, The Bryan Museum will celebrate Texas history with a hands-on event featuring live maritime, Celtic, and pioneer music, chuckwagon, comedic Medicine Show, branding, gunsmith, Buffalo Soldiers, games, costumed historical reenactors, an authentic WWII 2-1/2 truck and jeeps, delicious BBQ, beer and wine, and more! Handle some wild critters from the coast too!
Take a step back in time and interact with countless demonstrations and reenactors in the Museum gardens, all representing exciting, pivotal time periods in the history of Texas. Learn to play the same games that pioneer children played—and essential skills too. Learn how to start a fire, use a branding iron, try your hand at spinning cotton thread, and even make your very own corn husk doll to take home.
Festival admission includes Museum entry and is $5 for adults or $3 for children, 15 and under.
