Remembering Claire Rhoads | Museum Volunteer

The Bryan Museum remembers Claire Rhoads. Claire volunteered at the Museum from our opening through early 2018. Her favorite position was assisting at the front desk and greeting guests.  She also helped at our inaugural gala, special events, and any special project that came up. She was highly knowledgeable of the story of the building and enjoyed pointing out original features and taking guests to the ground level which displays the history of the building and toys found. She was also particularly interested in The Bryan because of her maiden name Chisholm, the same as the Chisholm Trail, the consequential cattle trail which is highlighted in the Statehood & Beyond gallery.

Claire was friendly, smiling, exuberant, funny, and warm.  It was a good day when Claire was at the museum. She was a wizard at paper Mache, a volunteer at many other organizations in Galveston and Dickinson, a Master Gardener, and an amazing person. We are lucky to have known her!
