Donor Spotlight: Susannah and Jeff Brown

Susannah and Jeff Brown are two of our newest Old 300 lifetime members and also serve on the Delegados Advocate Board. They moved to the island in September 2019 when Jeff became Galveston’s newest federal judge.
Susannah has enjoyed a long career in education, working as a middle-school and high-school English/Language Arts teacher in three Texas school districts. More recently, she has been an active volunteer at The Bryan Museum, where she organized and ably led our Summer History Camp, a delightful, interactive, and informative youth day camp, this summer.
Jeff served as a state judge for 18 years—on the trial bench, as an appellate justice, and as a member of the Supreme Court of Texas—before accepting his current position as a United States District Judge. He is also a member of the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America’s Bay Area Council, headquartered in Galveston.
Susannah and Jeff met as undergrads at the University of Texas at Austin (our founder, JP’s alma matter) and have been married for 28 years. They have three adult children—and one elderly Great Pyrenees.
Fans of the Museum long before they moved to Galveston, Susannah and Jeff are happy to now live so close that they can regularly enjoy its beautiful grounds and illuminating programs. As Jeff says, “The Bryan Museum is not just a priceless educational resource, it’s also a work of art in and of itself.” We are very happy to have Susannah and Jeff as members of our Museum family and most sincerely thank them for their volunteer work, advocacy, and friendship!
