[Gallery Presentation] Sharing Common Ground

One of the greatest challenges in frontier Texas was keeping the delicate balance of peaceful interaction between the early settlers and the local groups of Indigenous peoples. Learn more about the friendships, disputes, and information sharing that were daily occurrences during the 1800s.  Dennis Jones will display the household items and black powder weapons of the time period and describe how both Texians and Native Americans benefitted through peaceable trade practices.
