Hearken back to the days of the open range and cattle drives as the Poet Laureate of Pasadena Smokey Culver shares the music and poetry that captures the humor, the sadness, and the spirit of the American cowboy.
The iconic genre of Western music often reveals the heartfelt emotions of a ranch hand about his love of home, the wide-open prairies and the dangerous and sometimes tragic consequences of his daily life. Many songs were long poems set to music and were sung to soothe the restive cattle at night. Smokey will share both traditional and original works along with his love of the cowboy lifestyle and traditions.
