Do you remember the WWI movie “War Horse?” Stories of mounted warriors and their beloved horses fill the pages of history books from across the globe and across time. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the US 6th Cavalry from its beginnings prior to the Civil War to its transitional time from soldiers on horseback with sabers to fully mechanized divisions. Re-enactors from the 6th Cavalry Historical Group will lead you through this unique time period using anecdotes, photos, stories and genuine articles used by the hard riding mounted troopers in the pre WWII days.
