NOW ON VIEW AT THE PEARL FINCHER MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
This exhibit showcases a selection of original works from the 2021 Jose Cisneros exhibit at The Bryan Museum, including a collection of drawings ranging from personal sketches to the masterful illustrations portraying historical figures from Texas and the Southwest.
Cisneros, originally from Mexico, spent most of his adult life in El Paso. There he met Tom Lea and Carl Hertzog who expanded his artistic reach exponentially. In addition to his portrait drawings, Cisneros illustrated over 300 books, all while working full time for the City of El Paso transportation department.
This traveling exhibit will be accompanied by educational materials aimed toward elementary-aged students. The Bryan Museum is excited to extend our reach and share our resources with students in the greater Houston area.
If you’re interested in renting the full exhibit, please contact Kate Gray at kate@thebryanmuseum.org or (409) 632-2274.
