Tours (1.5-2 hours)
Highlights of History: Enjoy a private tour through four extensive galleries filled with one of the world’s largest collections of artifacts, documents, and artwork relating to Texas and the American West.
The following offerings are subject to availability and require at least a one month notice.
Deep in the Art of Texas: Enjoy a comprehensive tour of two galleries displaying stunning artwork of Texas and the West including marble and clay sculptures, oil paintings, pastels, watercolors, and pen-and-ink illustrations.
Garden Stroll: Enjoy the peace of the beautifully landscaped grounds with a personal greeting from the Museum’s Horticulturist.
On the Trail: Delve deep into the lifestyle of the cowboy by examining the Museum’s extensive collection of saddles, spurs, chaps, firearms, lassos, and other everyday items that were integral in life on the open range.
Echoes of the Past: Explore the nooks and crannies of the Museum’s historic building for a glimpse into its former role as the 1895 Galveston Orphanage Home.


How to Plan Your Tour
Private tours for adult groups of 10-50 may be scheduled Wednesday through Sunday between 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Special arrangements can be made for Tuesday, if other dates are filled.
Only scheduled groups will receive special tour pricing. Drop-ins will be charged full admission.
Pricing:
- Tours are FREE with admission and must be scheduled in advance.
- Two tours can be booked jointly for $22 per person.
- Admission waived for the coordinator and bus driver.
- ADA accessible.
Coordinator Visits: If you are a tour coordinator interested in the Museum as a potential group excursion and you provide us with advance notice, you may visit with complimentary admission and meet with a staff person.
