Virtual Reality

Using new 3D technology, students can now explore The Bryan Museum’s extensive collection of artifacts and art from Texas and the American West without leaving school. Our Virtual Reality Experience allows anyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in a 360-degree exploration of our artifacts or take up to five, 3-minute guided tours of our galleries.

  • Introduction to The Bryan Museum
  • Spanish Colonial Era
  • The Texas Frontier Era
  • Statehood Era and Beyond
  • The Rest of the West Era

Utilize YouTube’s 360 degree viewer or your Google Cardboard device to view the Guided Tour version of the VR film. See the Museum and key artifact as you take a tour alongside students.

For a more immersive experience and access to both the Guided and Self-Guided Tour versions of the film, get the files you need to load on your existing headset. Files and instructions are available for Oculus Rift/HTC Vive, Oculus Go, and Samsung Gear.

Then borrow ours to make use of the more immersive experience with access to both versions of the Tour. You can check out our sets of THREE Oculus Gos for SEVEN days for classroom use. We’ll ship them to you and you are responsible for taking care of them and paying for shipping back to the Museum.

For activities that utilize the Museum’s VR experience and support instruction on the topics covered in the Tour, see our Resource Center.
