Naomi Carrier, founder of the Emancipation Trail Association, will give a lecture titled, “Juneteenth is a Celebration, Emancipation is Freedom.” Carrier wrote the narrative for the HCR245, Texas Legislature’s recognition of the Underground Railroad to Mexico. She is the founding director of Texas Center for African American Living History, a non-profit dedicated to Texas history and culture that includes African Americans from the African American perspective.
