The Traveling Exhibitions for Students (TEXaS boxes) allows for heightened student experiences and learning that goes beyond the traditional classroom settings and usual lessons. Our travel boxes contain tactile, touchable artifacts which literally put Texas history into the hands of students. Also included is a professionally written curriculum aligned to the TEKS, including cross-curricular lessons covering history, reading, writing, art, STEM, and experiential/creative for each appropriate unit. Artwork is a key component of each kit. Reproduction prints of museum paintings and drawings help bring the important stories of Texas history to life. Students are encouraged to “jump into” the artwork and experience the stories with all their senses. The Bryan Museum's Traveling Exhibitions for Students program is free to all Title One schools upon request and availability. To reserve your TEXaS box, please contact, education@thebryanmuseum.org .
“The students really like seeing the artifacts and many are things that they may never have the opportunity to see in person. I loved the variety of lessons and that there is a little bit of something for all types of learners.”5th Grade Teacher, Pasadena ISD
