Vickie McMillan-Hayes will speak about the new art installation outside at The Bryan Museum commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Great Storm of 1900. She will talk about her journey as an artist as well as the meticulous planning and artistic vision that led to the completion of this large-scale painting. Focusing on community engagement, hopeful symbolism, and emotional connections, McMillan-Hayes seeks to inspire the viewer through this mural.
McMillan-Hayes has had a fascinating career characterized by travel, wildlife preservation, and honing her artistic ability. Her artwork often focuses on wildlife, both national and international, and she will share how her past experiences shaped her approach to art in both subject matter and technique. McMillan-Hayes is a third-time participant in the Visions of the West exhibit (on display at The Bryan Sept. 26 - Oct. 12) and the Art Untamed Art Auction (at the Coronado Club in Houston Oct. 18).
