Supporter Spotlight: Ken Randolph

Today we are featuring Museum member, loyal donor, and friend since we opened in 2015, Ken Randolph. Ken attends our programs and events on a regular basis and can be found in the galleries proudly showcasing the Museum to his network of friends and family, which we deeply appreciate.

Ken graduated from Texas A&M Mays Business School and the University of Texas School of Law. After graduation, he worked 4 years in the Washington D.C. office of the prestigious law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. In 1984 Ken represented Akin Gump in founding Natural Gas Clearinghouse which later became known as Dynegy.  He worked there from 1984 to 2003, the first three years in a Commercial position marketing natural gas to Utility and large Industrial Customers throughout the Western United States (including NGC’s first major deal with Southwest Gas of Las Vegas, Nevada), and then spent the remainder of his time as Executive Vice President & General Counsel in charge of Legal, Regulatory & Government Affairs.  After obtaining an unprecedented expedited regulatory approval of the sale of an interstate pipeline asset in 2002 that allowed Dynegy to avoid Bankruptcy, he retired in 2003 and became a Private Investor.

Ken has owned a Condominium at The Galvestonian for almost 30 years and observes, “The Bryan Museum not only serves as a living reminder of the history and spirit of Galveston, the Republic & State of Texas, and the American West, but it is also a huge piece of Galveston’s post-Hurricane Ike development, along with the Cruise Industry expansion, redevelopment of Downtown including Post Office St. & the 27th and Market area (anchored by Maceo’s), Pelican Rest Marina/Number 13, Galveston Island Brewing, and many more”.
