The Bryan Museum Expands Artist Lineup for Art Untamed

Galveston, TX – After a successful inaugural year of Art Untamed: A Night of Contemporary Western Art, The Bryan Museum will expand their artist lineup for a 2nd run this Fall. Art Untamed is the climactic night of the Museum’s contemporary western art exhibition and auction, Visions of the West, where attendees will get a chance to mingle with featured artists, learn about their inspiration, and submit final bids on the artworks, with all winners being announced at the evening’s end.

Art Untamed was created to highlight the works of masters of contemporary western art and to raise money not only for the artists themselves, but also for The Bryan Museum’s educational programs and exhibitions. Returning artists include Nocona Burgess, Nancy Bush, Ricardo Robles, Mary Baxter and Dina Gregory. This year’s roster of master Texas artists will also include Tim Oliver, Nancy Bush, Rhonda Radford Adams, Robert McCoy, Karen Kirby and Daryl McCracken.

The night begins with a live art demonstration by artist and member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, Nocona Burgess. Burgess is the son of a former tribal chief and the great-great-grandson of one of the most revered Native American leaders, Chief Quanah Parker. Burgess will be joined by Ken Wise of Wise About Texas podcast fame on stage for the demonstration. The evening continues with Emmy Award-winning journalist, Shara Fryer, hosting a panel discussion with contributing artists for a lively talk on their work and life as a Texas artist. The event ends with guests socializing with artists in the Museum’s galleries with a cocktail reception and final bidding on their masterworks. All artists will be on hand to discuss their art throughout the night.

Art Untamed takes place on Saturday, October 7, from 5:30p.m. to 9:00 pm.
